Travel & Distances Guide

The garden is easily accessible by car, with straightforward routes from surrounding areas and clear signage as you approach.

Just 10 minutes from Masham, 20 minutes from Ripon, 35 minutes from Harrogate, and around 60 minutes from Leeds, making it an ideal destination for a day trip.

From A1 via Masham

Approx. 10 minutes from Masham
  1. Leave the A1 at the Leeming Bar/Bedale turn off (A684) and continue towards Bedale.
  2. Drive through Bedale and follow signs towards Masham on the B6268.
  3. Continue through Masham village square following signs for Grewelthorpe.
  4. In Grewelthorpe, pass the Crown Inn pub and take the first right uphill.
  5. At the T-junction turn right signposted “The Hutts” and continue uphill.
  6. Take the next left signposted “The Hutts – 1 mile” towards Hutts Lane.
  7. Continue to the top of Hutts Lane past houses on your right-hand side.
  8. Bear right down the signed Himalayan Garden drive and follow signs to the car park.

From Ripon square market

Approx. 20 minutes from Ripon
  1. Leave Ripon Market Square following the Pateley Bridge road towards Grewelthorpe village.
  2. Take the first right signposted Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard after leaving Ripon.
  3. Continue on this road for approximately 6 miles towards Grewelthorpe village centre.
  4. In Grewelthorpe, pass the duck pond and take the steep left uphill turn.
  5. Turn right at the junction signposted “The Hutts” and continue towards Hutts Lane.
  6. Take the next left signposted “The Hutts – 1 mile” before continuing uphill.
  7. Continue to the top of Hutts Lane past houses on your right-hand side.
  8. Bear right down the signed Himalayan Garden drive and follow signs to the car park.

FROM THE SOUTH

Approx. 60 minutes from Leeds
  1. Leave Ripon Market Square following the Pateley Bridge road towards Grewelthorpe village.

  3. Continue on this road for approximately 6 miles towards Grewelthorpe village centre.

Last admission is at 3pm and we kindly ask that all visitors leave the Park by 4pm

Monday Closed on Monday (except Bank Holiday Mondays open 10am -4pm)  
Tuesday  10:00am – 4:00pm (closed on Tuesdays in July – October)
